Why Epoxy Flooring is Perfect for Western Colorado
Living in Grand Junction means experiencing a wide range of weather conditions, from hot summers to chilly winters. This makes it vital to have flooring that can handle temperature shifts and moisture. Epoxy flooring does just that. It provides a moisture-resistant barrier that prevents cracks, water damage, and staining, while its UV-resistant topcoats protect your floor from fading in the sun.
Why is epoxy flooring such a popular choice here? Let’s break it down:
- Resilience: Tough enough to handle heavy vehicles, machinery, and constant foot traffic. It’s also great against moisture (typically epoxy flooring’s worst enemy).
- Low Maintenance: Forget about tedious cleaning routines. Epoxy’s smooth surface makes sweeping up dirt and spills a breeze.
- Weather Resistance: Designed to withstand the wide temperature fluctuations of Grand Junction.
- Custom Looks: Choose from various colors, textures, and decorative finishes to fit your style.
- Long-Lasting: Installed with precision, epoxy flooring can last for decades without needing replacement.
Our 2-day system is another point of popularity, but we’ll get to that in a bit.

The Difference of a Two-Day Installation
Many companies offer “1-day polyurea” or “1-day polyaspartic” installations. But we believe that quality shouldn’t be rushed. At Garage Floor Coating Western Colorado, we take our time to ensure your floor is installed properly and designed to last. Our two-day installation process starts with the application of a moisture vapor barrier (MVB) to mitigate future moisture-related issues…from above and below the concrete surface. Moisture is the most common reason for coating system failures. After allowing a full day for the MVB to cure, we then apply two (not one) 100%-solids polyaspartic top coats to provide extreme UV, chemical, and impact resistance.
A one-day process sounds nice, but it’s similar to rushing any project — speed over quality. You can see the difference just by reading the warranties (which shows every contractors hand). We warrant ALL moisture-related issues and hot-tire transfer (AKA plasticizer migration). “1-day” systems don’t! Our thorough, 2-day process ensures your floor not only looks great but lasts for years, making it a worthwhile investment for your home or business.
